Brilliant Stage iDOLM@STER Haruka Amami ~ 天海春香

MegaHouse launched their Brilliant Stage series of figures with a bang by introducing Haruka Amami (天海春香), the face of THE iDOLM@STER franchise, as their first character release for the series.  There is simply no better choice than giving the fans what they want!

Haruka Amami

A scan of the original artwork that MegaHouse’s Haruka is based on.  MegaHouse took the liberty to make a few changes to the top idol’s design, it’s all for a better looking figure. ^^

Here’s some videos of Haruka in action.

THE iDOLM@STER アイドルマスタ – Danketsu 団結

The girls introduce themselves with a catchy tune.  They’ve pretty much covered all grounds with a girl for everyone’s fancy. ^^  Watch this in HD and full screen if you want to read the sub.

THE iDOLM@STER アイドルマスタ – Merry ~ Christmas for You!

Lovely MAD of the idols in Christmas outfit hijacked from Nico Nico Douga.  The theme fits this figure really well. ^^

THE iDOLM@STER アイドルマスタ – Princess Bride!

A really crazy and catchy song about some yuri action…I believe.  ^^

MegaHouse’s Brilliant Stage Haruka Amami was released in December 2008 and went on sale for ¥6,800.

Nekomaru from Nekohouse is in charge with the sculpting of the idols in the Brilliant Stage series.

Everything on MegaHouse’s Haruka falls into place perfectly.  The paint job is beautiful, the level of detail never fails to impress, and the sculpt is magnificent, capturing the top idol in her signature pose.

Haruka have everything we’ve come to expect in a 1/7 scale figure, a finely sculpted body and great attention to detail.

I love how MegaHouse is using a standard base for the entire iDOLM@STER series of figures; but they are definitely a space hog when used on a figure with a small footprint like Haruka.  Though I still appreciate the uniform look.

The shading on the figure is a tad overdone in some areas, in an otherwise flawless paint job, but MegaHouse didn’t go fully overboard to the level of Miki and Yukiho.  There is also less glitter on her outfit compared to the S-2 releases.

Haruka is the all-around good girl and main heroine in THE iDOLM@STER.  She enjoys singing and making sweets, despite the fact that she seems to be quite inept as a cook in general.  She’s easily excited and a bit clumsy, admitting that she usually falls down at least once a day.

“Clumsy appeal” anyone?

You have to appreciate all the extra details MegaHouse added to her design while retaining her charm and beauty.

Really nice details on her stage outfit.

Haruka doesn’t have the kind of flare that Miki has, yet, fans still love her because of her outgoing and cheerful personality.  Oh, let’s not forget that clumsy appeal. ^^

She looks gorgeous.  Haruka fans won’t be disappointed with this figure.

Really nice figure for a 16 year old, (B-W-H): 83-56-80.

Gorgeous details and paint job.  Hallmarks for a great figure.

The minute details are there to be seen for those who value the effort.

I don’t mind Haruka being my Santa.  No, not at all. ^^

No detail was left out on Haruka’s hair.

Nekohouse didn’t leave out any details on this top idol!  Love how the cross-pendant is raised. ^^

Haruka’s trademark is her over sized ribbons.  They are the reason why she was called “Baka Ribbon” in the Xenoglossia anime.

Haruka pantsu.  ^^

Yayoi Takatsuki was released with Haruka as part of MegaHouse’s Brilliant Stage iDOLM@STER series.

I prefer Yayoi at Haruka, but this is a great review, and a nice photoshoot. Congratulation for this ^^

Her face and hair are a bit too bland for me.

Also, it’s all a bit too red :P Maybe the red background was a bit much ;)

Also, you’re on the Links page, finally. It’s not final yet, the page, not your inclusion there. Also linked directly to your Revoltech versus Figma posts.

I know red is a bit too bold for this one. But not many colours go well with the red stage outfit. I’ll do better next time. :P

Thanks for the inclusion to your links page. ^^

    always wished they made an anime in the spirit of the game… i think i like all the characters better in their role as normal idols ^^;

    haruka looks great! been seeing a lot of her nonowa counterpart on niconico ^^;

was playing the psp version of the game but unfortunately they divided the girls up into separate disks so i don’t even have haruka on mine -_- (had to grab the one with miki ^^;;)

maybe someday i’ll get a japanese xbox to experience the full game…

Haruka did make a brief stint as an idol in the anime, but yes, it would be nice if they made an anime based on the game. I bet they’ll sell more merchandise too.

I think most of us would go with Miki since she looks smexy.

Im kinda reminded of Santa Claus by her outfit ^^
Im kinda unhappy that all the brilliant stage girls are having glittery outfits. Not that I would have bought them otherwise but it seems kinda unappaealing atleast to me

Not that we would mind Haruka being our Santa Claus, right?

Yeah, some people don’t like their shiny outfit. I think they should’ve released them in their “Gothic Princess” outfit, like the nendo petit set.

Wow, glad I found this! Currently working on putting together pieces for a Haruka Dollfie Dream and these will make for great reference!
