Another month, another update of my pre-orders list. Man, a month flew by just like that. I haven’t posted much this month, kinda packed with projects…especially after finding out we’ll have one less week for this semester (and one more week of break!). I would post about my projects, but not too sure if you guys are interested or not.
Let’s get down to business. Alter’s Fate T Harlaown -True Sonic Form- is due to be released later this month…not sure how late though. We can’t be sure she’ll be coming until she hits the store shelves. Maybe the delays are on purpose so they can bring the release date closer to the Nanoha movie?
I’m still waiting for my WonFes Miku order to come. Two figmas and one TV CM Miku should be on their way this month as well.
I might consider selling off one of the Miku figma, but that’s just a thought at this point. I’ll have to see how good the stage looks before I decide.
Why am I not surprised with this? GSC’s BRS is delayed ONCE AGAIN to a December release. I don’t really care about when they come anymore since I still have a couple figures in their boxes waiting to be unpacked. “orz
Nendoroid Chiaki-sama!! Shit, I think I canceled her order from HLJ when I was switching my orders to AmiAmi…and pre-orders are closed there. “orz Nevermind. I just checked and I placed my order with AmiAmi first. phew~~
Since I already mentioned it here; yes, I’m switching over to AmiAmi because their prices are just too good to overlook. Anyone else switched over to AmiAmi?
If you haven’t made the change, why not? I know some of you prefer HLJ because of their SAL option, which is offered by AmiAmi as well. Maybe because you prefer HLJ’s flexibility?
Why do I have a feeling that she’ll be delayed again? Hmm…maybe it’s the fact that the Ikkiboobsen re-releases have been bumped back to January and there are six figures on Alter’s release block in December? Anyways, don’t be surprised if Alter’s Takamachi Nanoha Exceed Mode is delayed again.
GSC’s Canaan…the anime sucked in the end, but the figure looks nice. January release? Most likely not; but who knows.
MegaHouse’s Miura Azusa Sunshine Yellow ver. I initially ordered the purple version, but I knew this one would look better with the set when I saw her. Luckily, AmiAmi let me make the change. ^^;; Yeah, I’m a tough customer. She’ll be released in March.
Is this the definitive Kosaka Tamaki we’ve all been waiting for? I’m not sure, but I know I want one. Luscious body, huge boobs, thigh highs, unlimited pantsu view…couldn’t resist. I was going to buy the Kotobukiya one, but I’m glad I waited. :) Max Factory Kosaka Tamaki — to be released in April 2010.
Ordered, and paid for, Alter’s Saber Alter Maid ver. I know a few of you are getting her, let’s see who receives her first. A Hobby Channel Exclusive, to be released in April 2010 as well. To be honest, I still don’t know much about Saber. But who cares when she’s in a maid uniform. :P
Canceled:
I canceled MegaHouse’s Brilliant Stage Miura Azusa regular version in favour of the recently announced Sunshine colour variant because I was an ass and wanted AmiAmi to do some work. That wasn’t the only reason though. I got nothing against the colour; in fact, I like this colour more. But I don’t like the motifs on her boots and hot pants. It doesn’t go with the rest of the set at all…forcing me to go for the sunshine yellow version instead.
I canceled GSC’s Alphard because her face looks too weird. That, and she didn’t die in the end. I think this figure would be much better without that smirk on her face. No more matching pair for me…

Alter’s Mercedes looks really nice. My left brain tells me it’s okay to get her, my right brain tells me I should save up a little…I got nothing coming in for February. My wallet can finally rest. ^^;;

And good job, on cancelling a figure you didn’t really want but only tried to get for the set!
I’m thinking of switching to AmiAmi, they have about 15% discount overall, which is better than HS, and they have SAL shipping. I’m waiting to read some reviews of their services, some more that is. Also, the no pre-order cancellations makes me think. So how did you get them to switch a figure for you?
The regular Azusa looks better by itself, and the colour choice is really nice. But the rest of the set doesn’t have the motifs, that’s why I chose the sunshine yellow instead. Afterall, I’m going for set completion for this one.
If you want me to rate the email response time, it’s pretty fast. They responded within 20 minutes. Of course, I sent it during their business hours.
I emailed them about the situation of how I want the sunshine version because it looks better with the rest of the set and how I didn’t know the sunshine version existed before. I think they have a degree of tolerance on canceling orders; but they don’t want you to cancel orders (like I’ve been doing with HLJ) left, right, and centre.
I think I canceled $1,000 worth of figures with HLJ this month alone…yeah, I’m an ass, but that’s the sad truth. We go to the place with the lowest price, especially when there’s no general level of personalized service to differentiate one company from the other.
I havent switched to AmiAmi yet…
Why? First off they only offer SAL up to 2 kg of merchandise and I like my shipments to be combined.
Ive taken a good look through their stock and their product range isnt as big as HLJs.Im pretty sure that this is a temporalily problem though and itll get bigger when times passes on.
The last thing that keeps me from switching to them is that they dont offer cancelation of Preorders.I often preorder figures im having an interest in but I am not so sure about.Canceling them later on isnt a problem with HLJ.
I have quite a few preorders for January for example and since I am unemployed right now Ill probably have to cancel a few of those.
I ordered the limited 2-P Aldra via SAL from them and Im excited to see how long they will take :P
The limitation for SAL is up to 2kg as specified by the post office, it’s the same with HLJ. I blame the post office. :P
I think their stock range doesn’t look as impressive as HLJ or HobbySearch because they don’t keep those really really old discontinued figures from years past on their website like HLJ and Hobby Search. If you take a look at what’s in stock over at those stores, it doesn’t differ much from what AmiAmi has.
But yes, I think the “rule” that we can’t cancel pre-orders keeps a lot of us from them because we like to order whatever we like…then cancel them as our fondness for those figures decreases. But for myself, I’ve been ordering fewer and fewer figures nowadays, so it doesn’t hurt when it makes me scrutinize the figure before she even arrives. :)
Hmm… if you do sell a Miku figma let me know, I been wanting to buy a replacement and have yet yo find one ever since I bought her from the first batch.
Dammit, why does every body keep saying Nanoha will be delayed, I feel like I’m getting jinxed.
I’m also giving AmiAmi a go, I preordered the new Saber and Vita figmas and I’m waiting to see how that goes.
If it all goes well, I will probably cancell my Alter pre-orders from Hobby Search. Last time I checked I saved about $50 if I changed shops.
I’ll definitely let you know if I decide to sell it. What happened to your Miku?
Heh, they’re being pretty unrealistic with their release schedule in the first place. Look at the mass of figures they have lined up for December and January release. They’ll probably trim that list down to 2-3 release per month…and the domino effect continues without end. The same thing happened to GSC earlier this year. The delays won’t stop until they stop announcing new figures for one or two months; which means the delays won’t stop.
Miku is not broken per say, but her torso ball joint apparently is too small doesn’t stay secured at all.
If they are trickled down like that, at least the hit on the wallet will be small.
Just with Alter’s Nanoha and Yui it’s more than $200, plus I got my first set of Nendos preordered too, plus the usual figmas.
The waiting might not be enjoyable, but it really might not be a bad thing on the long run.

Hmm, the only figure I have on pre-order on your list is Alter Fate… even that I am sort of tempting to cancel it…
T’is a year of delaying figures. Not planning to get anymore scaled figures after Fate – it’s the only one I want for the entire 2009, so hearing it getting delayed again and again is a little frustrating for me (while some others are relieved that their wallets are saved for the time being).
MegaHouse and Koto seems to be the only big brands that never fails with their release dates. I’m surprise they set such ambitious release dates when they can’t fill previous releases.
MF’s Tamaki has the best face rendition I ever seen – Great choice! As for Alter’s Saber alter Maid, I’m really not into this rendition… Not sure why. Ironically I just sold my Alter’s Saber maid weeks ago.
I’m still hovering over the fact that BRS got delayed. But well, no choice but to wait. T.T
And I urge you to get Mercedes… Muahaha! :-p

I used a deputy service called Goody Japan to order her.
Still haven’t made the switch to AmiAmi yet. With reliable services from HS and HLJ, it’s hard to make the switch all of sudden without any reason other than price. Will await on a few reviews of their services at this point.

This just in, Alter Nanoha is delayed till Jan 2010. I think the date is Jan 22. Anyway, it’s good news for me as I’m still recovering from a hole at SG. lol
Isn’t the lower price (10-15% lower on average) enough to make the switch? I doubt reliability would be an issue, though I am seeing that they are going the same route HS is going by taking ecchi figures off their international site. They’ve also removed all MegaHouse figures from their site for some strange reason which they explained to me as “a certain circumstance”. My guess is they’ve encountered fraudulent transactions with said figures.
I’ll definitely say something about them. Their customer service have been responsive so far.
There’s still a really good chance that she’ll be delayed for another two months seeing Alter just pushed all their December releases to January. Same thing with GSC, I doubt they’ll be ready to release 8 figures in December.
