GSC Black Rock Shooter

Good Smile Company’s Black Rock Shooter — the one that almost got away.  I had her on my pre-order list, dropped her, picked her up again, dropped her again, and picked her up once more.  One of the reason she was dropped twice is the fact that she was delayed one too many times.  The only reason that I picked her up (again) many times after is because she is one sexy figure.  Then, of course, I learned later that she’s a reincarnation of Hatsune Miku, which might have played a big role subliminally. GSC Hatsune Miku CM Ver.

Good Smile Company was one of the first figure manufacturer to capitalize on the popularity of Hatsune Miku, the mascot for Yamaha’s “Vocaloid” music synthesizer program.  Many companies followed suit soon after, but Good Smile Company’s Hatsune Miku remains as one of the most popular figure to be released for the Vocaloid diva — seeing two re-releases in 2009.  Their original release captured Miku’s charm without the robotic voice.  It couldn’t get any better.  Could it?

It did when GSC teased us with this Hatsune Miku commercial.  Soon after, they announced that she’ll be available for sale as a WonFes/Good Smile online shop exclusive.  Her price, surprisingly, is ¥1,000 lower than the regular release.  Lovely! Continue reading ‘GSC Hatsune Miku CM Ver.’

New Figures and more for December

I’m surprised that quite a few figures came in December.  Despite the size of the loot, I actually didn’t “spend” that much in December.  Well, that’s because everything you see here except for the provocative Miku Morizaki were paid for in previous months.  I didn’t buy anything during boxing day because I had to work…damn you!! *waves fist*

Alter’s colossal Fate T. Harlaown -True Sonic Form-, Good Smile Company TVCM Miku Hatsune, 2x figma Miku Hatsune Live Stage Ver., Giga Pulse Miku Morizaki, and 2 IDOLM@STER CDs came in December.  In fact, the two CDs came in yesterday.

Before I forget, HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Continue reading ‘New Figures and more for December’

Alter Fate T. Harlaown -Shin Sonic Form-

Alter’s Fate T. Harlaown -Shin Sonic Form- created a lot of buzz in the figure world when she was announced.  Did she live up to the expectations?  Gorgeous sculpt – checked.  Lovely paint work – checked.  Dazzling details – checked.  Striking pose – checked.  Ginormous Zamber – checked.  Thigh highs – checked.  Alter’s Fate T. Harlaown takes awesome to a whole new level. Continue reading ‘Alter Fate T. Harlaown -Shin Sonic Form-‘

MegaHouse Queen’s Blade Alleyne

Alleyne -the Combat Instructor- is the latest gal from the Queen’s Blade universe to be released in MegaHouse’s Queen’s Blade line of figures.  I was sold immediately when I saw her promotional photos earlier this year and pre-ordered her right away because I love her character design.  Alleyne’s design is not cliché, the colour works well together, and her face looks simply stunning — adding up to one beautiful figure.  Do be advised that this review is NSFW! New Figures for October and November!

Time for another loot post since I haven’t posted in almost two weeks!  I don’t have any excuse for not posting for this long aside from not having much content to post, and school work.  I was hoping to have MegaHouse’s Allean review up before posting this, but this will become a October+November+December loot post if I do that.  I think I’ll stop doing what I’ve been doing and post these loot posts on the first of every month regardless.  It’s a promise this time.

I hope I didn’t leave any figures out because it’s been two months since my last loot post.  But here is my October and November loot: GSC Saber Lily, Kotobukiya Asuka Langley Shikinami, Kotobukiya Taiga Aisaka, MegaHouse Taiga Aisaka, MegaHouse Airi, and MegaHouse Allean. MegaHouse Brilliant Stage Taiga Aisaka

I got the chance to re-acquire this lovely  Taiga Aisaka figure from MegaHouse’s Brilliant Stage line during HobbySearch’s sale earlier this month.  I say ‘re-acquire’ because I had her on my pre-order list at one point, but dropped her after every figure on my pre-order list was delayed to August — the month this Taiga was released.  The funny thing is, I had my pre-order with HobbySearch back then; so this could be the very figure that I pre-ordered.  Instead of paying full price, I’m bought her for 60% off instead.  ^^v Continue reading ‘MegaHouse Brilliant Stage Taiga Aisaka’
